What is the 10% means?
We know percentage means a value or a rate in 100. it means, when we are saying 10 % it means 10 out of 100.
Again if you say 5% discount then it means 5 Taka discount in100 taka.
আমারা বলতে পারি শতকরা মানে হল ১০০ এর মধ্যে কত ? মানে যেমন উপরের উদাহরনে আমারা লিখলাম ৫% ডিস্কাউন্ট মানে প্রতি ১০০ টাকায় আপনি ৫ টাকা ছাড় পাবেন ।
এখন যদি বলা হয় ১০% ছাড়ে ২০০ টাকায় কত ছাড় পাবেন ? তাহলে উত্তরটি নিচে দেখে নিন ।
What is the 10 % of 200?
Ans : 20
How : In this type of math “ of ” means product or multiplication.
So, we can write ,
10% * 200
= 10/100 * 200
= 10 * 2
= 20
More examples :
1. 5 % of 100 = 5/100 * 100 = 5
2. 20 % 300 = 60
3. 3 % of 75 = 3/100 * 75 = 9/4 = 4.5
What is the 10 % of 20% of 10000
Solve : there have 2 of. so we know in mathematics terms of means product. so there will be to product.
We using short method we can write,
10/100 * 20/100 * 10000
= 200
More example :
1) What is 10% of 20 % of 30% of 4000
Short method :
10/100 * 20/100 * 30 /100 * 4000 = 24 ( by calculating )
Some practice question :
What is 5% of 0.50
Ans :
5% means 5/ 100
0.50 means 50 /100
Of means product
So we can write at a time,
5/100 * 50 /100
=1/20 * 1/2
= 1 / 40
Extra more advance basic :
1) What is 35 % of 11/16 of 160
Ans : 35 /100 * 11/16 * 160 =
2) 10% is 3000 is how much more than 5% of 3000
Here , 10% is 3000 = 10/100 * 3000 = 300
And, 5% of 3000 = 5 / 100 * 3000 = 150
So the difference between the two values is 150 . because the question is the first amount of the first value is how much more than 2nd part of math.
3) 5% of which number is 25?
So, thing practically,
If we compare this math with the above math,then we can write,
5% * which number = 25 { here 25 is the result comparing above math .so we have to find out , here 25 is which number’s percentage )
5% * which number = 25
5/100 * which number = 25
Or , which number = 25 * 100 / 5
Or, which number = 500

Or , x = 25 *100/y

Make A number into a percentage
1) a number 0.05. what is the percentage of 0.05?
Ans : we can write, 0.05 = 5 / 100
We know percentage means how much value in 100. so In this math, we are seeing that 5 In 100. so we can say 5 % .
2) What is the percentage of 0.45?
Ans : We can write 0.45 = 45/100
So, here 45 is in 100. so the result will be 45%.
3) What is the percentage of 2/5?
Ans : we know percentage means how much in 100. so when we write a percentage in fraction we can see, every time 100 will be the denominators. So here also, denominators should be 100 to make it a percentage .
So, a short technique is , to make this fraction in percentage, multiply these factions denominators and numerators by 100 .
So , 2/5 = 2*100/5*100 ( they both are same )
Now don’t change the denominators 100 ,it will easy your math .just a technique. Change or calculate other denominators ans numerators.
So, 200/5*100 = 40/100
So now see here 40 in 100 that means 40%
4) What is the percentage of 60 is 80 ?
Ans, percentage * 60 = 80
Or , percentage = 80/60 = 4 /3
Or , percentage = 4 * 100 / 3* 100
Or , percentage = 4 * 100 / 3* 100 = 133.33 / 100 = 133.33 %
